A New and Improved Steady Rest is Coming

Steady rests on the market today have a fundamental flaw. They all require the support wheels to be engaged with the work piece separately. This leads to uneven pressure on the work piece that can cause it to deflect. Any turning done after the steady rest is engaged will be off center from work done before. This occurs any time the steady rest is adjusted.
